I have reestablished the “20-Second Rule”, a rule I made up a couple of years ago that went by the wayside. It is this:
Every day my husband and I must have at least one kiss that lasts at least 20 seconds.
It’s pretty hard not to feel a little closer to someone if you manage to squeeze that in every day. And he’s game! : )

My husband I exchange lots of kisses and cuddles every day, and we’ve been together 33 years now, 27 years living together, 6 married. My husband has always been super-affectionate but I also made sure we kissed and cuddled every day when he was a high-rise construction worker. It was dangerous work and I never knew if he would come back home at night in once piece or not at all. So I always made sure we never went to sleep on a quarrel either. Not that we’re good at quarrelling, we start laughing.
